Easy.
Quick.
Refreshing.
Healthy!
Those four factors make smoothes in the summer a go-to, must-have in your kitchen!
I will be posting more smoothie recipes as a part of my Summer No-Bake Series! This recipe is just a start, but I’ve got more up my sleeve I’m wanting to try. For now though, I’m going to KEEP IT SIMPLE! 🙂
So here is number 3 in my No-Bake Series!
You will need:
A blender
A spoon
A glass or mason jar
Ingredients:
1/2 cup rasperries – fresh, and washed
1/2 cup blueberries – fresh, and washed
1/2 cup whole-fat OR non-fat greek yogurt
1 Tablespoon honey
2 Tablespoons of almond milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 Tablespoon lemon juice or key lime juice!
(I had a bunch of key limes leftover from my Ice Box Cake recipe…)
1/2 cup ice cubes
Directions:
- Pick through your berries after you’ve washed them and make sure there aren’t any moldy ones. That’s the worst!! I mean, the taste might disappear into your smoothie, but it’s still a good practice to wash and sort your fruit. (And veggies for that matter!) You can also give them a vinegar bath if you don’t intend to use them right away.
- Dump the berries and scoop the yogurt into your blender. Blend on low for a few seconds.
-
Add the honey, milk, cinnamon and lemon juice. Blend a few more seconds.
-
Add the ice last and blend on high until smooth.
-
Poor into glass and enjoy!
Ok ok, I know my pictures don’t reflect this order, but I’ve made it a few times and I like doing it a little bit at a time, better. 🙂
Like I said, this one is short and sweet and simple. But I will be adding more as the weeks progress. Especially as I experiment with more protein powders (I found a vegan one I really like!). I also want to try some with veggies and other non-traditional ingredients. There’s so much out there to blend together that the possibilities are infinite 🙂
Try your own and share your results!
Enjoy!
